COOPERATIVES
According to the Maharashtra Co-
operative Societies Act 1960,
sec. 2(9)
a consumer co-operative society is
defined as a society the object of which
is (a) the procurement, production or
processing and distribution of goods or
services for its members or other
customers, and (b) the distribution among
members and customers, of profits
occurring such procurement, production or
processing and distribution.
Need and Importance
1. Supply of goods and services as per need of the consumers.
