Cylindrical Coordinate Robots
are robots whose axes form a cylindrical coordinate system.

Used for

-assembly operations,

-handling at machine tools,

-spot welding, and

-handling at die casting machines.

-They also have many uses in medical testing.


Advantages of Cylindrical Robots
Almost independent of gravity, collision free
movement.
Two linear axis makes the mechanical design easier.
Disadvantages of Cylindrical Robots
Large size of structures, restrict to compatibility with
other robots.
Less accurate on the end resolution compared to
Cartesian robot.
