INTRODUCTION OF DATA
LOGGER

A data logger is an electronic device that records data.

It built in instrument or sensor or external instrument and
sensors.
The instrument generally small, battery power, portable, and
equipped with microprocessor, internal memory for data
storage and sensor.
TESTING THE PH LAVEL OF COMMON
DRINKS USING
DRDAQ AS A PH METER.

Introduction

DrDAQ is a instrument that we used in this experiment as pH meter.

Recently dentist have begun warning about the dangers of drinking acidic
drinks. The recommended safe level for the pH of drinks is 5.5, anything below
this can promote tooth erosion.
MATERIAL AND APPARATUS

Pepsi
DrDAQ data logger
One pH sensor Cherry coke
Plastic cups Ribena
Orange juice Lemon squash
Apple juice
Milk
Black tea
Lemon tea
Original coke
METHOD

Fill all cups with an equal amount of liquid which will cover the
pH probe tip.
Mark the cups so that they can be identified later.
Plug the pH probe into DrDAQ and run PicoLog Software.
It is important to allow all the drinks to stabilise at room
temperature since pH readings vary with temperature.
RESULT

Food Sample pH

Coke 2.61

Milk 6.76

Apple juice 3.49

Black coffee 5.51

Lemon tea 3.73

DISCUSSIONS

ph is measure of how acidic or alkaline a solution in water.

The pH scale is numbered between 0 and 14.
If a solution has pH below 7, it is acidic
If a solution has pH of 7, it is neutral
If a solution has pH above 7, it is alkaline
Generally the drinks samples have pH vaue beow 7 that
mean they are acidic drinks. Acidic foods and drinks can cause
erosion. Acidity is measured by its pH value and anything that
has a pH value lower than 5.5 is more acidic and harm your
teeth. Still water is the best drink for teeth.
CONCLUSIONS

From his experiment we can know that more acidic drinks

can harm our health especially our teeth. This is because the
acidic drinks has lower pH level that can corrode our teeth and
also can effect our blood. So for precaution we must not take the
acidic drinks frequently in our daily life.
