1- Prayer Endears Us to
God
Moses (Exodus 33:11) was speaking to God face
to face
Abraham intimated so much with God that God
referred to him as my friend (Isaiah 41:8 )
Israel the descendants of Abraham was also
endeared to God (Isaiah 41: 8 -10)
David had intimated ,relied and depended so
much on God, he became a man after Gods
own heart. (1 Samuel 13: 14)
God established Davids dynasty and his
descendants (2 Samuel 7: 11 -16)
2-Prayer Enriches the
Spirit
In deep worship and meditation God
speaks to us mysteries.
He writes His laws (His WORD The
Sword of the Spirit) on the tablet of
our hearts. (Psalms 119:97 -104;
Eph. 6: 17)
We become rooted , built and
established in God (by His WORD and
wisdom) (Col. 2:7)
3- Prayer Enlarges Us
Spiritually
Prayer and fasting
Weakens (disempowers) the flesh
The inner-man, the Spirit is then released to reach out to
God.
Must be backstopped with the Word of God and the Holy
Spirit
The Spirit of discernment (the Holy Spirit)
Takes a believer to the spiritual realms
In worship and fasting the Holy Spirit spoke (Acts 13:2)
directing the needed action.
Paul and Barnabas appointed elders and commissioned
them with prayer and fasting (Acts 14 :23)
4 - Prayer is a Warfare
This is a world of gross darkness (Rev: 12:12)
We wrestle not against flesh and blood (Eph.
6:12)
It is the Spirit (our spirit) that fights therefore.
The weapons are not carnal but mighty (2
Cor.10: 3 5)
The Holy Spirit picks from the stock of the WORD
(Eph. 6:17) stored in the heart and hands it to
our Spirit (reminds us) according to the need.
