religion, Vedism, with its worship of:

Their literature is embodied
in the Vedas, the earliest of
which was the Rig-Veda,
containing hymns to their
nature gods, to whom they
offered gifts and sacrifices.
The Caste System
oBrahmans- the highest caste
consisting of educated priests and
scholars who directed the religious
life of the community and supplied
the rulers.
oKshatriyas- the warrior class which,
with the Brahmans, constituted the
ruling class.
