PROBLEM STATEMENT

Modern toothpaste Some toothpaste contains


nowadays consist of sharp tartar control which
unhealthy ingredients that can erode the enamel and
can cause thyroid. lead to gums shrink.

To implement automatic process from


manual process

To control temperature in close loop


process

To control and monitor the plant by


using Programmable Logic Controller
(PLC) and PC-based Totally Integrated
Automation (TIA)

baking powder with the salt.

EXPERIMENT (1 OF 2)

Prepare all the basic ingredients which is virgin coconut oil, baking
soda and stevia powder.

Put the virgin coconut oil first, then at the same time put the
baking powder and stevia powder while the product undergo
heating process. Stir the product until it mixed well.

There are 2 flavors for the toothpaste which is cloves and miswak.

EXPERIMENT (2 OF 2)

Transfer the product to the cooling process, stir it slowly and


close the container. Wait for 2 minutes.

Open the container, then stir the product again until it looks like
a paste.

PROCESS PLANT SEQUENCE

Heating Mixing Cooling

During heating process, we use indirect heating method by


using clamp heater because our product is not suitable for
direct heating

For cooling process we use portable chiller to make our


product cooled until it reached 28C.

Both process tank holds another process which is mixing. This


is because during heating and cooling, the product need to be
continuously stirred and mixed

CONCLUSION

Can implement manual process which is


hand-made method into the automatic
process.

Plan and design close loop control system to


control temperature.

Plan and design the usage of technological


software like PLC and TIA.
