DISCUSSION
For the purpose of simplification the
discussion can be carried out under two
parts:
Part One: Investigation of the six different
cantilever configurations considering
material property of T.M.A. wire only.
Part Two: Comparison between the six
cantilevers employing different archwire
materials.
Part One
FLAT CURVE
UTILITY
D
F protraction
The utility arch has the least amount of retraction forces for at any
given level of deactivation when compared to other cantilever
configuration. The deep curve has the maximum amount of retractive
forces at any level of deactivation.
The results obtained in this study were in agreement with the study
done by Melsen and Dalstra.
