Os pronomes possessivos possuem 2 funes:
1) Adjetiva - vm antes de um substantivo:
That is not my. These are my pens.
(Aquele no meu carro. Aquelas so minhas
canetas.)
2) Substantiva - usados no lugar do substantivo:
That pencil is not mine. Those books are mine.
( Aquele lpis no meu. Aqueles livros so os
meus. )
BobCheck: 1) Em ingls, os possessivos tm forma
nica para o masculino e o feminino, no singular e no
plural, concordando com o possuidor,no com o que
possudo:

2) No usam artigo definido:
