Our church Symbol

2005 Center for Inquiring Leadership

Introduction
The Seventh-day Adventist symbol is the
most recognizable element of our existing
visual identity.

The symbol, like all symbols, functions

much more as a container for attributed
meaning than as a theological statement
.
It is we, Seventh-day Adventist members,
who give that symbol meaning.
11
There are 20 million strong Seventh-
day Adventist Church operating in
more than 200 countries and
territories around the world,
worships in more than 900
languages, making it almost
impossible to create a cohesive
visual identity.

12
13
The Symbol
The Seventh-day Adventist symbol,
has been in use since 1997
on Apr 11, 2017 Adventist Church
adopted new global visual identity
system.

14
15
Changes on symbol

The shapes of the symbol

remain largely unchanged
from the original

The symbol is now free to

exist in isolation, detached
from the name of the church
or entity

16
where the symbol is detached, it sit within in
the Sabbath column

17
When not within the Sabbath column or
locked up with an entity name, the preferred
version is the knocked-out circular version

18
Use of the name "Seventh-day Adventist"

19
Use of the name "Seventh-day Adventist"
The name and the logo
are trademarked and registered
identities.
As with all proper names, there
are appropriate and
inappropriate ways to spell, and
abbreviate.

20
Spelling:
Seventh-day Adventist,
including the hyphen and a lower-
case "d" for "day".
Abbreviation: Adventist. In
communication about the Church,
the abbreviation
"Adventist" may be used on second
reference

21
Changes on Color
the symbol is now allowed to exist in a variety of
colors.
color means different things across the world,
all elements of the symbol should appear in the
same color.
The Adventist Church contains a myriad of
cultures with different meaning on the same color
Due to this Local designers and church leaders
will be able to choose what color works best for
them, in their region.

22
2-colors plus black

If necessary, it is acceptable
to use solid black in place of
GC Gray for the logotype

23
2-colors

When only two colors are

available, the entire symbol
should be GC Green and the
logotype should be GC Gray or
solid black.

24
1-color

GC Green, GC
Gray, GC Gold or
solid black may be
used for the entire
signature when
necessary.

Our churches, ministries, and
organizations, have spent such a

sometimes difficult for people to tell

all belong to the same body.

importance of creation and the 7th

Adventists.

communication for the Seventh-day

The Creation Grid
Symbol Creation Grid contains
seven-column layout structure.
The first six columns are yours to do
all your work of communicating
information like; text, images,
illustrations, patterns, logos etc.
But the seventh-column, the Sabbath
column, is to be set apart as a
reminder and visual celebration of
the last day.

36
Using the symbol
where the symbol is detached, it sits
within in the Sabbath column
Can be used while locked up with an
