Transformer Introduce & 200 KVA

Transformer Calculation
Introduction
A transformer is an electoral device that transfers
energy between two circuits through electromagnetic
induction. A transformer may be used as a safe and
efficient voltage convert to change the AC voltage at
its input to a higher or lower voltage at its output.
Other uses included current conversion, isolation with
or without changing voltage and impedance
conversation.
A transformer most commonly consists of two
windings of wire that wonder around a common core
to provide tight electromagnetic coupling between the
windings. The core material is often a laminated iron
core. The coil that receives the electrical input energy
is referred to as the primary winding, while the output
coil is called the secondary winding.
Basic principals
The functioning of a transformer is based on two
principals of the laws of electromagnetic
induction : An electric current trough a
conductor, such as a wire, produce a magnetic
field surrounding the wire, and a changing
magnetic field in the vicinity of a wire induces a
voltage across the ends of that wire.
The magnetic field excited in the primary coil
gives rise to self-induction as well ad mutual
induction between coils. This self- induction
counters the excited field to such a degree that
the resulting current through the primary
winding is very small when no load draws power
from the secondary winding.

TRANSFORMER
CONSRTUCTION
There are two basic Categories of transformer
assembly, shell type and core type. This two types have
identical function in only difference between the two
designs is the customers request manufacturing cost
and technique space requirement etc. The figure bellow
shows the different types two transformer assembly.
When windings surround the core, the transformer is
core form ; when windings are surround by the core,
the transformer is shell form. Shell design may be more
prevalent than core form design distribution
transformer applications due to the relative ease in
stacking the core around winding coils.
PROCESS OF
MANUFACTURE
The manufacture of distribution transformers can be sub-divided into
following operations
a.Assembly of the core unit H.T.&L.T. coils
b. assembly of leads and making of connections in the coils.
c. placing the assembly in the tank
d. testing.
i. firs stage the H.T &L.T. coils are wound on the coil winding machines and
assembled on the core limbs out of silicon steel sheet.
ii. second stage the connections of L.T & H.T coils are made and the assembly is
put in a hot chamber of drying impregnation with insulating compound is
carried out and the assembly is dried again
iii. third stage the fittings and accessories are mounted on the M.S tank
fabricated in the factory the core coil assembly is fitted in the tank and the
tank is then filled with oil.
iv. forth stage the transformer is tested in the testing section as per relevant is
specifications.

Conclusion
This internship was very successful to me. I have gained new
knowledge, skills and met so many new people. I got insight into
professional practice. Demand of practical work experience has
no other alternative in todays job market. Internship is a great
opportunity to achieve this experience. The internship was also
good to find out what my strengths and weaknesses are. This
helped me to define what skills and knowledge I have to improve
in the coming time. I feel very proud to be an intern of
Energypack. Energypack is really helpful those who actually want
to learn. It is a great chance to gather knowledge of corporate
world before entering the job field. I think that, the practical
experience that I gathered in Energypack will help me in my
professional life a core.
