Through regular exercises, physical fitness helps the individual: Proper growth of young bones and muscles. Improve the ability to avoid and recover from illnesses and accidents. Improve posture and appearance by strengthening muscles that support the body. Minimize stress response. Maintain proper body weight. Prevent heart ailment. Improve organic functions. COMPONENTS OF PHYSICAL FITNESS 1. Health Related Physical Fitness- involves exercise activities that you do in order to try to improve your physical health and stay healthy.
2. Skill- Related Physical Fitness-
includes training to improve speed, agility, balance, coordination, power, and reaction time. These are usually used to help athletes improve performance for their particular sport or activity . Components: 1. Cardio respiratory Endurance- The ability of the heart and lungs to function efficiently and effectively over a prolonged period of time. 2. Muscular strength ability of your muscles to exert force. 3. Muscular endurance - ability of your muscle to exert force or to perform repetitive movements over prolonged period of time 4. Flexibity ability to move our joints ad muscles through their full range of motion. 5. Body composition ratio of lean muscle to fats in the body.

1. Agility Ability to change the direction of your body quickly and efficiently at the speed of your travel. 2. Balance ability to remain in equilibrium while being stationery or moving. 3. Coordination ability to use your body parts, muscles, to move smoothly and accurately. 4. Speed ability to move your body from one point to another as fast as possible 5. Reaction time- amount of time taken for you to respond to stimulus ( based on sight and touch). 6. Power- application of speed and strength to produce a muscular movement.
