Starting in v16.0 every MapInfo Pro user can


access the Pitney Bowes online Global Geocoder.
Requires signing up for an account.
1000 credits per month (per user)
City/postal level geocode = 1 credit per geocode
Street level (or better) = 5 credits per geocode
Premium Services customers receive 2000 credits
per month (per user)
Upgrade plans available for those who
require additional geocoding.
Easy to sign up.
Continued receipt of the credits is dependent
upon keeping MapInfo Pro on Maintenance.

Graph windows not supported.
Legacy Layout window not supported.
In the 64 bit version, Layout windows are
converted to Layout Designer windows to the
extent possible.

Workspaces created in the 64 bit version of MapInfo Pro


can be opened in the equivalent level 32 bit version.

52 Backwards compatibility for MapBasic
applications

Existing MapBasic applications will run in the 64 bit


version of MapInfo Pro but with some exceptions.
Applications that call 32 bit DLLs will need to be
upgraded.
Calls to Windows functions might or might not work,
depending on changes in the Operating System.
The 64 bit version does not have the Graph
window nor the Legacy Layout window.

MapBasic applications will appear in the Tool


Manager and menus and buttons will appear
on a special Legacy tab.

You might be wondering

Is the 64-bit version a separate product? Does it cost


extra?
No. With MapInfo Pro v15.0 and 15.2, the same
serial number and access code work for both the 32
bit version and the 64 bit version.

Note that MapInfo Pro v16.0 is only available in a 64


bit version.

What version number is the 64-bit release?


Version 16.0 is the latest version.

Can I run a 32 bit and 64 bit version side-by-side?
