2
Introduction:-

DCCPP is 330 MW combined cycle

power plant.
The main equipments were supplied by
BHEL .
The main fuel used for this plant is
R-L-NG( Re-liquefied natural gas) which
will be supplied by GAIL. The gas
required per day 1.3 MM scum at 9000
kcal.
3
UNITS CONFIGURATION:-
Total station capacity 330MW.

TYPE OF TURBINE LOAD

GAS TURURBINE -1 96.931MW

GAS TURBINE-2 92.706MW

STEAM TURBINE 95.796MW

TOTAL LOAD- 285.31MW

4
Working of the combined cycle power
plant

DCCPP has an unique feature that the same

energy source is used to rotate both gas and
steam turbine without wasting much of
energy.
combined cycle means waste heat from the
gas turbine is recovered by a heat recovery
steam generator to power a conventional
steam turbine.

GAS TURBINE

9
GAS TURBINE:-
It works on idealized Brayton cycle.
It extract energy from hot gases produced
by combustion of gas.
In this shaft speed is 3000 rpm.
5 stage turbine arranged on common shaft
with 18 stage compressor and a generator.

12
WASTE HEAT RECOVERY
STEAM GENERATOR :-
Itis a heat exchanger that recovers heat
from a hot gas stream.
There are two boiler drums in WHRSG.
Water comes in economizer and
temperature of water increased.
Water supplied to boiler drum then
evaporator in this water is converted into
steam.
Steam pass through super heaters.
Dry steam is supplied to boiler drum.
Then steam turbine.
13
STEAM TURBINE:-
In Steam Turbine shaft is rotated steadily
by impact reaction of steam as working
substances on blades of turbine.
It converts potential energy or heat energy
into mechanical energy.
It works on Rankine Cycle.
Steam turbine is started by burnt exhaust
gases coming out from gas turbine.

14
WORKING OF STEAM
TURBINE:-

15
CONDENSER:-
Situated below turbine.
Purpose is to turn low energy steam
back into water for use in WHRSG.
Maintain proper flow of steam.
In general improve the efficiency of
plant.
Air and non-condensable gases, which
have corrosive action are removed by dry
air pump.

23
Conclusion :-

The first phase of practical training has proved to

be quiet faithful. It proved an opportunity for
encounter with such huge machines like tippler,
330MW turbines and generators etc.

The architecture of the power plant the way

various units are linked and the way working
of whole plant is controlled make the student
realizes that Engineering is not just learning the
structured description and working of various
machines , but the greater part is of planning ,
proper management
