from the Roman Empire
To recover from their military wounds and ailments
legionnaires sought out hot wells and then built baths so
that they could heal their aching bodies
They called these places aquae

Body Treatments
Body treatments generally mean the polishing
of the skin, followed by a wrap. They
combine some of the techniques of a massage
or a facial. First, aromatic oils are used to
stimulate and exfoliate the skin. The body is
the wrapped with a thermal treatment to
smooth and hydrate the skin. The wrap also
encompasses the body to leave the skin
scented by the oils used.
Body Treatments
Therapeutic baths use water, herbs, and botanicals
which soften you skin. The senses are soothed
and the body is relaxed with the use of light and
color therapy. Massaging jets are also used. Baths
can be a mixture of almost anything, from
chocolate to soften the skin, mint julep to clear the
sinuses, green tea for a complete detoxify, to
eucalyptus for sore muscles. Herbs and botanicals
like rose petals, lemon lime for energy, lavender for
relaxation, as well as cypress, fir, juniper and pine.
Body Treatments
Mud treatments are also used. The mud is
applied to your entire body, much like a body
facial. After the mud application you relax on
your specially designed steam table which
provides the ultimate in comfort and luxury
during your spa experience. Mud treatments
cleanse and soften skin and soothe tired
muscles. The addition of aromatherapy

steam table.

Aromatherapy
What is it? Use of plant aromatics (essential oils
collected through steam distillation) for the
holistic healing of mind, body and spirit
Has been used for thousands of years, but the
term Aromatherapy was coined in 1920 by Rene-
Maurice Gattefosse, Ph.D., a French cosmetic
chemist.
Ways to use Essential Oils: Inhalation,
Vaporization, Massage, Bathing and Compresses

Hot and Cold Compresses
Hot: Useful for backaches, rheumatism, arthritis,
abscesses, earache, and toothache
Cold: Useful for headaches, neck tension, sprains, and
strains.
Fill a bowl with very hot (or very cold) water
Add 4 to 5 drops of essential oils
Dip a folded piece of cloth into the water, then squeeze
out extra water
Place the moistened cloth onto the affected area until it
reaches body temperature.

and see how your body reacts
Essential oils should always be diluted with V6 Vegetable
Oil or other carrier oils before they are applied to skin
Do not use essential oils internally

Some oils may damage the surface of contact lenses
