Low and intermittent voltage output.
Low voltage output is anticipated by using DC-DC Boost
Converter.
However, several problem occurs when using the
conventional topologies of DC-DC Boost Converter (ex:
Conventional Topology, Inverter-Transformer, Cascade
Boost Converter). The problems are:
The switch must operates at extreme duty ratio
The efficiency becomes low when cascaded
Usage of Inverter-Transformer makes the dimension becomes bulky

SOLUTION FOR PV CELLS
PROBLEMS
Dahono-1 topology advantages:
To produce high voltage gain, the switches will only operate at
moderate duty ratio.
The efficiency is high due to not implementing the cascade topology.
The dimension is less bulky than Inverter-Transformer application.

CONCLUSIONS

The expressions regarding the voltage gain in ideal and non-

ideal case are verified through the calculation and
simulation results. Therefore, the equations are already
correct.
Inductor equivalent resistance (Rdc) is the main component
that contributes significantly to the drop in voltage gain.
To maximize the voltage gain, inductor equivalent
resistance (Rdc) must be minimized.
