ENERGY.
Science
Indicator 2
Boston International School
OBJECTIVE

Understand how energy works differing its kinds and

sources to identify their uses.

LEARNING OBJECTIVE

Describe the different sources of energy by distinguishing

between chemical and mechanic energy to establish the
way they work and how they are used.
BIBLICAL PRINCIPLE

Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

How do you relate the passage to the topic, energy?

How does a lamp work? Why is it compared to Gods
word?
How does the Bible light up your path?
CHEMICAL ENERGY
It is stored energy in substances. This a
form of energy that can be found in food,
medicines, gasoline, coal, and batteries.
MECHANICAL ENERGY
It makes machine parts move.
Car engines burn gasoline to
change its chemical energy
into mechanical energy.
CLASS ACTIVITY

Read page 648 and answer:

1. Why should people conserve energy?

2. List some ways you can conserve energy.

Answer orally
How does a lamp work? What kind of
energy make the lamp work? why?
Why is the lamp compared to God's
word?
How does the Bible light up your
path?
