 Introduction:
Product development is the set of activities
beginning with the perception of a market
opportunity and ending in the production, sale and
delivery of a product.

The design function plays the lead role in defining

the physical form of the product to best meet
customer needs.
 Concept generation:
Initially submitted project ideas:
1. Automatic power shutdown.
2. Portable lamp light.
3. Air dryer.
4. Automatic vegetable cutter.
5. Auto door lock from inside.
6. Manual washing machine.
 Concept selection:
Initially we submitted proposal for these two projects:

1. Automatic vegetable cutter .

2. Manual washing machine.

Finally we decided to make Manual washing

machine.

Materials: plastic, iron rods, taps, woods.

 Equipment:
1. A large plastic box.
2. Iron rods.
3. One handle.
4. Two small pieces of woods.
5. A plastic lid.
 Procedure:
1. Making two holes on the box.

2. Adjust the rods with appropriate setup.

3. Joint the handle with the rods.

4. A cover/lid will be added on top.

1. It can wash all kinds of cloths.

2. It can wash several cloths at a time.

Further improvement:
There are many opportunities for further
improvement such as-

Water tap can be used on the bottom of the box

for getting out dirty water. A motor can be used
to make the product automatic.
