This document provides three clinical formulas for estimating fetal weight based on fundal height measurements: the Johnson Toshack formula which uses 155 x (fundal height - k); the Niswander formula which uses (fundal height - 13) x 450/3; and the Dare formula which uses the fundal height multiplied by the abdominal circumference. Examples are given for each formula using a fundal height of 32 cm to estimate the fetal weight.

Example : Fundal Height : 32 cm 155 x (32 12 ) = 3100 grams
k = 11 (fetal head at plus stations)
k = 12 (fetal head at zero station) k = 13 (fetal head at minus stations) Clinical formula for fetal weight estimation (Niswander Estimated Fetal Weight ) :
Fetal weight (grams) = (Fundal Height 13) x 450
3 Example : Fundal Height 32 cm ( 32 cm - 13 ) x 450 = 2850 grams 3 Clinical formula for fetal weight estimation (Dare Estimated Fetal Weight ) :
