 Amtek (Castex Technologies Ltd.) is a leading
multinational manufacturing of automotive components
& assemblies with production facilities located
strategically across Asia, Europe & U.S.A. The groups
extensive manufacturing capabilities encompass Iron &
aluminum castings, forging, machining & assemblies. It
has 844 plants in India. It deals with machining &
assembly of tractor parts, two wheeler parts & four
wheeler parts. The machines which are used in this
industry are CNC, VMC, slitting machine, welding
machine, etc. The production quantity of this company is
very large. This industry has 3 main deptt. :-

Production is the functional area responsible for turning
inputs into finished outputs through a series of production
processes. The Production Manager is responsible for
making sure that raw materials are provided and made into
finished goods effectively. In this deptt. various types of
machining operations are done on the different parts of
automobiles & manufactured. The operations like milling,
grinding, drilling, boaring, etc. are done in this deptt. &
that also on the CNC & VMC machines. In the production
deptt. of this industry the machining operations are done
on the tractor parts, maruti suzuki parts, Hero & Honda
parts. The parts of these vehicles are also manufactured in
this deptt. The quantity of the production of all parts is
very high in this industry.

motorbikes & scooties look so similar that they can only be
identified by the pipes fitted in them. The models which
are fitted in the scooties have long pipes & the models
which are fitted in the motorbikes have small pipes. There

A starter ring gear, sometimes called a starter ring or
ring gear, is a medium carbon steel ring with teeth that
is fitted on the periphery of a flexplate or flywheel of
an internal combustion engine, mostly
for automotive or aircraft applications. The teeth of the
starter ring are driven by the smaller gear (the pinion)
of the starter motor. The primary function of the
starter ring is to transfer torque from the starter motor
pinion to the flywheel or flexplate to rotate the engine
to begin the cycle. Ring gears are also used on the
Maruti Suzuki flywheel. The ring is heated at the
temperature of 163 degree Celcius for its expansion.
After that the ring is kept on the OD (Outer Dia.) of the
flywheel & the pressing is done on it by the pressing
machine so that it fits properly & tightly on the
flywheel.
