THE REALATIONSHIP OF KNOWLEDGE AND


ATTITUDES OF PREGNANT WOMEN WITH
NUTRITIONAL STATUS
DURING PREGNANCY IN MANADO CITY
HEALTH CENTER SHOULDER
Preliminary
In general, the causes of malnutrition in pregnant women
due to the consumption of foods that do not meet the
nutrition requirements.Nutritional status is a measure of
success in nutrition for pregnant women.WHO(World
Health Organization)recommends an additional amount
equal to 150 kcal a day in the first trimester and 350 kcal
a day in the second and third trimesters.Low levels of
knowledge causes the mother did not understand the
fulfillment of the required nutrients pregnant women
during pregnancy (MOH, 2002).Nutritional needs during
pregnancy will increase per day, despite all the
Indonesian people already know the benefits of nutrition
for pregnant women, but until now there are many
pregnant women who have nutritional problems
(Damanik, 2009).
Purpose

The purpose of this study was to


determine the relationship of knowledge
and attitudes of pregnant women with
nutritional status during pregnancy on
the health center Bahu Manado City.The
design of this study usedcross
sectionalmethod.
Population and sample

The population in this study is client

pregnant women during their pregnancy


came at Puskesmas Bahu Manado
City.The samples in this study were
pregnant women in health center clients
Bahu Manado as many as 40 people who
have fulfilled the inclusion criteria
The sampling technique

The sampling technique used


waspurposive
sampling.Instrument used was a
questionnaire and measurement
Antrhopometri.Data were analyzed
using SPSS version 16,
withSpearman'rhotest to

results indicate the existence of a
relationship between variables.This
suggests there is an association of
knowledge with nutritional status
during pregnancy on the health
Attitude relationship with the
nutritional status of pregnant women
during pregnancy Based on the results
of research conducted at the health
center of the city of Manado Bahu
statistical test results
obtainedSpearman's rho= 0.003 p
value less than 0.05, and these results
indicate the existence of a relationship
between variables.This suggests there
is an association with the attitude of
nutritional status during pregnancy on
the health center Bahu Manado
conclusions

The conclusion is that knowledge of the


nutritional status of pregnant women
have a relationship with the obtained
value (p = 0.000 < = 0.05) and attitudes
of pregnant women with nutritional status
has gained value relationship (p = 0.003
< = 0.05).Advice is to be a lot of
counseling and information for pregnant
women to knowledge fulfillment of
nutritional status during pregnancy
