Definition of Terms
RAP Remittance Agency Partner. Institutions authorized to
collect and transfer remittances from either domestic or
overseas sources for settlement to beneficiaries in the
Philippines. These may be remittance companies, partner
banks, manning agencies, money exchange companies, etc.

RAR Remittance Acknowledgement Receipt; document


printed by LBP branch authorized user upon validation of
remittance claim

RCF Remittance Claim Form; form filled out by beneficiary


with remittance details to claim remittance at the branch
Definition of Terms
RTGS- Real-Time Gross Settlement. An automated facility of
the BSP to effect high-value payment instructions for Peso
transactions between banks through their respective deposit
accounts maintained with BSP

Self-Allottee - a remitter who remits to his own bank deposit


account

sFTP secured File Transfer Protocol. Mode of data


transmission by RAP wherein files containing remittance
transactions for batch processing are transferred to a shared
folder integrated with the LBRS

What is the procedure for opening an OF account?
EO No. 055 series of 2012
o LBP Servicing Branch shall properly identify whether the new
depositor is an OF or OF Designated Beneficiary, and properly
stamp the CISSC with OF Account.

o If the depositor is an OF Designated Beneficiary, basic


information of the OF such as OFs Name, Relationship to OF,
and Overseas OFs Address shall be specified in the Remarks
portion of the CISSC. Referral Letter from ORMSD/DRMD
shall no longer be required.

o Existing procedures on the deposit account opening shall be


followed.

1. Branch does not allow the OFW ATM Account DRMD faxed a copy of the BSP Circular
despite presentation of one (1) unexpired photo on Valid ID cards for Financial
bearing ID and Referral Letter Transactions and Executive Order (EO)
No. 55 and discussed it with the
branch personnel.

2. Customer Associate instructs the OFW or OFW Reminded the Customer Associate of
beneficiary to go to DRMD and have the Referral the provision in the EO No. 55 and
Letter originally signed by authorized signatory that provided copy of the same. DRMD
most of the time irritates the OFWs or OFW still signs the Referral Letter just to
beneficiaries facilitate/hasten the account opening
and appease the already irritated
OFWs or OFW beneficiaries.
ISSUES AND CONCERNS ACTIONS TAKEN

3. OFW and OFW beneficiaries of Seabird were turned- Called on branches concerned and

8. LBRS users of some branches were not yet enrolled ORG issued memo reminders to
