This system is available for,

All Gas Turbine Compartments

Gas Turbine Generator
Steam Turbine Generator

This system is very effective for

quenching the fire at shortest
possible time.
Atmospheric air contains,
21 % ----- Oxygen
78 % ----- Nitrogen
1% ----- Others
CO2 extinguishes the fire by reducing

oxygen content in the air in the

compartment from 21% to less than

15% (i.e.,) In sufficient concentration to

support combustion.
Initially a quantity of CO2 equal to or
greater than 34% of the compartment
volume is discharged in the compartment
in ONE MINUTE (Initial Discharge) and
then a prolonged slow discharge for 40
minutes (Extended Discharge) to
minimise the likelihood of Reflash
condition.

Fire Alarm sent to MARK-V in CCR and Gas

Turbine Will Trip...

Fire Audible Alarm initiated in CCR CO2

control panel and local also...
All the Ventilation fans and cooling fans in
GT (88BT,88TK,88BX,88VG,88BL and
88VL)stops immediately..

After 10 Secs, CO2 pilot cylinder solenoid

valve gets energised for the compartment
where FIRE sensed...

CO2 released from the Initial Discharge

cylinders rapidly(1 Minute)...
Fire dampers of the fans in that particular
compartment gets closed by CO2
released.

Extended Discharge cylinders will be

actuated by initial discharge manifold
pressure.

CO2 released from the extended discharge

cylinders gradually for 40 minutes to avoid
reflashing inside the compartment.
Come Out from the compartment and
close the doors. All doors should be in
closed condition.

Break the Local EPB glass and depress the

Pushbutton.

Inform to Control Room and Fire Station

Immediately.
Wait and see the CO2 discharge into the
compartment through glass from Outside.

Never let anybody to go inside the

compartment.

Confirm the CO2 cylinders discharge

locally by checking pilot and slave
cylinders by discharge noise and
coolingness.
Remove the PIN in the Manual/Pneumatic
actuator and pull down the lever in the
Pilot cylinder of the particular
Compartment..

Confirm the CO2 cylinders discharge

locally by checking pilot and slave
cylinders by discharge noise and
coolingness.
This system is very
sophisticated and reliable.

Very easy to Operate . Hence

in case of FIRE, Always take
full sincere efforts to
extinguish the Fire and save
lives and equipment.
Maintenance Schedule:
The CO2 cylinders has to be refilled when the
weight reduces to 10 % or 5 years of operation
which ever is less.

The Hydrostatic test of CO2 cylinders has to be

carried out after 10 years of service to check the
cylinders for any damage, crack etc.

Lubrication of Co2 dampers to be done periodically.

Healthiness of heat detectors and solenoid valves

to be checked periodically.
