1. Prepsmith homework Select the most common mistakes from the homework of last lesson and give explanations.
Review
Learning Objectives Check on Ss to see if they have further questions.
Briefly review the learning objectives of taday's lesson.
Walk through the word list, teach students to pronounce new words and their additional
form correctly
2. Vocabulary Lesson Explain the definition of each word.
Call on students to read aloud the sample sentence of each word, or translate it (either way
is ok).
Let students listen to a sentence or a short passage related to the question type of that day's
Concept Lesson.
3. Lead-in
Encourage students to answer the question and give their reasons to lead them to that day's
Concept Lesson.
Present an overview of the content from Concept Lesson (show the questions format; or skill
focus).
4. Concept Lesson Give students some general tips about how to answer this type of question, or how to use
this skill.
Review the question type/skill & how they apply to this task/use this skill.
Quickly go through related vocabulary if necessary.
Walk through questions with Ss before play the audio.
Let Ss present their answers and give explanations.
5.Guided/Partially Guided
Listening Provide some guided questions to help Ss understand the listening materials.
Play the audio again and focus on sentences that imply the answers, and analyze them.
Guide students filling in blanks in Summary part to help them fully understand the Listening
materials.
6. Independent Listening Play the audio and Let students do the practice on their own, and remind them taking notes.
Ask students to retell the lecture to their partners according to their notes and discuss their
answers.
7. Independent Listening
Review Ask or call on students to answer each questions and give their reasons for choosing that.
Analyze right answers.
Review the concept and consolidate all knowledge.
8. Lesson Recap
Assign homework.
