Eduardo Serino went to

Zamboanga City to deliver

money for the hospital bills of
his 11-year-old son, who was
injured in an accident.

Unfamiliar with the city and

distraught over his sons
condition, he was walking along
RT Lim Boulevard when police
officers accosted him and
demanded to inspect his
backpack.

He refused. He was then

dragged to a corner, mauled, and
arrested.

Two hours after, the police

brought a lifeless Eduardo to
Zamboanga Medical Center

The police version of the story: Eduardo
started to hurt himself which would explain
the bruises on his body. They also said that
they did not have a medical certificate
because the Zamboanga Medical Center
refused to release the document.
