Reciprocating pump were selected for drawing the water
from depth.
For low head rotary pump were selected.
Worm and bevel gears were selected for large velocity at

Review Outcome

VAWT is more effective than other type of Wind turbines.

For High head Reciprocating pump is preferred whereas for low head Rotary

pump is preferred.

Worm and Bevel Gears can be used in order to obtain high speed on pump shaft.
Aim and Objective

Aim: Design and Fabrication of Irrigation system by Windmill

Objective:
To Obtain the speed of the pump shaft as larger times the speed

obtained on windmill.

To reduce the human efforts for pumping the water from the

Water resources.

To use such pump in order to get continuous discharge.

DESIGN PROCEDURE
The material selected for the cylinder is cast iron.
The diameter and the length to be selected for the
cylinder is 3 and 24 respectively.
The piston displacement of 2.779 litres is selected.
The force required to lift the water is given as
F= (gA(h+h1))/cos .
