What happens now?

Sadschool District and Board of Education has been studying the


district enrollment for all schools.

Five year projections have been done; results continue to indicate


declining enrollment.

Sadschool Elementary has shown a significant decline in


enrollment in the last five years.

Sadschool Elementary has many classrooms that are vacant due to


declining enrollment.

Sadschool District continues to operate in the red. This prevents us


from providing the best possible educational opportunities to the
children in this community in a sustained way.
We know you may have questions of
Sadschool Elementary closing.
We are committed to working with every
family to ensure questions have been answered
and a positive transition takes place.
You are invited to attend one of the following
scheduled meetings. Principals from both
elementary schools and Board of Education
members will be there to answer questions and
listen to concerns.
Monday, March 6 Sadschool Elementary at
7:30 AM
Monday, March 6 Red Rock Elementary at
6:30 PM
Wednesday, March 8 Red Rock Elementary at
7:30 AM
Wednesday, March 8 Sadschool Elementary at
6:30 PM
Meetings will be held in Sadschool Elementary
and Red Rock Elementary LGI rooms (Large
Group Instruction).
Sadschool Elementary is one of three
elementary schools in the Sadschool District.

Sadschool Elementary will be moving all


students to Red Rock Elementary (100
students) which is still part of Sadschool
District.
Teachers and staff affected by school closures
have already been notified of their status.

Every effort will be made to reassign teachers


and staff within the Sadschool District.

The Sadschool principal will work with


teachers to find employment opportunities, if
needed, outside the district.
Sadschool Elementary is the oldest building in
the district.
Many costly repairs are needed to provide a
safe and healthy environment to all who
attend Sadschool Elementary.
Research has been done to see how property
can be best utilized.
Sadschool Elementary and property will be
sold to a private investor. The building will be
demolished and a new municipal building will
be built in its place.
Sadschool Elementary and Red Rock
Elementary principals will have scheduled
weekly meetings for the remainder of the
school year.
Scheduled meetings will include discussing
monthly and weekly deadlines that need to be
met to ensure a smooth and positive transition
to Red Rock Elementary.
All communication that pertains to the school
transition will be sent at the same time to
alleviate any miscommunication.
Sadschool Elementary principal will work with
the Red Rock Elementary PTO to create a
Family and Friends connection.
Red Rock Elementary families will be assigned
a Sadschool Elementary family.
This program is designed to have Red Rock
families assist with day to day questions
Sadschool families may have throughout the
year.
Bus company is working on bus routes and
preparing new pick up and drop off times.
A final route and times will be available two
weeks prior to first day of school .
Please complete bus transportation form if you
plan to use busing during the 2017-18 school
year (found on district website).
Overall bus transportation not affected with
the transition to Red Rock Elementary.
All lunch money balances will be transferred to
Red Rock Elementary.
All PIN numbers will stay the same for lunch
accounts.
Please contact Red Rock Elementary food
service manager if your child has specific food
allergies.
Overall food service program is not affected
with the transition to Red Rock Elementary.
Administrative assistants from both schools are
working together to ensure all records are
transferred to Red Rock Elementary securely.
Copies of all records will be made and put in
the warehouse as a backup copy.
There is no need to request a transfer of records
if you your child(ren) are transitioning to Red
Rock Elementary.
All families of affected special education
students have been notified and provided
options. We have taken care to ensure that all
programs available in Sadschool Elementary
will be provided in Red Rock Elementary.
Meet the Principal
Red Rocks Elementary principal will be at
Sadschool Elementary the last two weeks of
school.
Both principals will greet students as they enter
the building.
Principals will share morning announcements.
Red Rock Elementary principal will visit all
classrooms and participate in various class
activities.
Shadow Week
Red Rock Elementary will hold a Shadow
Week for all Sadschool Elementary students.

Each student would spend an entire day in


classes of the grade they will be entering. This
would allow the student to meet new
classmates and teachers as well as having
students take a tour of the new building.
Service Project
Principals from Sadschool Elementary and Red
Rock Elementary will coordinate a joint service
project. Some of the suggestions included Soles
for Souls and the Sandwich Project.
Sadschool Elementary students will meet at
Red Rock Elementary to do the service project.
This provides an opportunity to work together
to serve those less fortunate as well as meeting
new classmates and friends.
Orientation Night
Red Rock will be hosting an Orientation Night
for all new families. 6:30 PM in Red Rock LGI
room.
Transition teams (made of teachers, parents,
and students from both schools) will provide
tours to new families and be available for
questions.
New family packet will be distributed this
will include helpful information for all new
families.
Yearbook signing
and saying good-
byes
Time will be allocated during the last days of
school to allow entire school to sign yearbooks.

Time will be allocated during the last days of

parents, and students to be said.

Photo booth will be available to take


photographs with classmates, faculty, and staff
the last day of school.
Balloon Releasing
Ceremony
End of year balloon releasing ceremony
Students will write down a favorite school,
classroom, friend, or classmate memory on
an index card.
Cards will be attached to a balloon on the last
day of school.
Principal will lead balloon releasing
ceremony. Teachers, staff, and students will
release balloons.
Our PTO will host our end of the year
celebration. Sadschool Send off!

Live music will be part of our evening
Family relays and games
Face painting
Photo booth will be available for fun

PRIZES!!
Ice cream social will be held at Red Rock
Elementary as part of Welcome Back Night.
