Procedure
INTRODUCTION
IIT JAM is one of the entrance exams conducted for post graduation courses by IITs
and IISc.
Candidates get admission for Integrated PhD Degree Programs at IISc Bangalore and
M.Sc. (2 years), Joint M.Sc.-PhD, M.Sc.-PhD Dual Degree, M.Sc.-M.Tech., M.Sc.-M.S.
(Research)/PhD Dual Degree and other Post-Bachelor Degree Programs at IITs.
There are more than ten thousand students appear for the IIT JAM exam every year
and students with the high ranking and good score card are eligible for the counselling
procedure.
IIT JAM 2018 Exam will be conducted on 11th February 2018 by IIT Bombay.
Candidates who qualify the IIT JAM exam only they will be eligible for the
counselling procedure.
Candidates have to fill online application form through the JAM website for
counselling.
Candidates have to fill the choices of programmes at IISc and IITs, in order of
preference, in option form.
Candidates can apply for one or more programs in the desired Institutes according
to their Minimum Educational Qualifications eligibility criteria.
After accepting the seat, students are also required to pay the Seat Booking Fee
through online process only.
If seats remain vacant after first counselling, the second admission list will be
released by the organizing institute.
If seats remain vacant even after second counselling, third admission list will be
released by the institutes. This one is the last list and the counselling process of
IIT JAM will be ended.
Admission offers will be sent by the institutes to the candidates. Once the
admission offer received, students can log into the website and they must choose
any one of the following options i.e. Accept and Freeze, Accept and Upgrade or
Reject and Quit.
