People who are Arabic

versus Islamic

 Arabian People
'Arabic' is a way to describe someone's
ethnicity.
For example, a person who is considered an
Arabian is from the countries:
Algeria, Bahrain, The Comoros Islands,
Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon,
Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Oman, Palestine,
Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria,
Tunisia, The United Arab Emirates, and
Yemen.
From the Middle East and North Africa.
Arab Americans
-Their culture is strongly based around family
-Have artifacts from homelands to have some
reminders of their roots
-Like to have big feasts and host many people
(family and friends)
-Many immigrated were Christians, more Muslims are
being introduced to America
Family from
Saudi Arabia

Their language is also called Arabic.

The term 'ethno-linguistic' describes how their ethnicity (or culture) and language are tied together.

To be Islamic in America
-In need of mosques for worship Islam is simply a religion that Muslim people practice
-Have organizations to feel more
comfortable about their religion being Fun Fact: The term 'Muslim' came from the Arabic

their life is at home. You
can see how close their
families are. They tend to
do everything together,
and how they diffuse into
American culture.
 Impact on students/achievement

Bullying may affect:

-Self-esteem
-in religion/cultural influences
-in themselves as a person
-Academics
-less enthusiastic about school
-doesn't believe they can achieve
I THINK IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO BE
ENLIGHTENED ABOUT ANY AND EVERY
CULTURE,
ESPECIALLY AS A TEACHER!

I PERSONALLY WANTED TO KNOW MORE

ABOUT THIS.

NOW WHAT I DO KNOW MORE I FEEL LIKE I

CAN REACH A NEW DEEP LEVEL WITH MY
FUTURE STUDENTS IF THEY PRACTICE
ISLAM. NOW I WILL KNOW MORE ABOUT
WHO THEY ARE AND I WILL LET THEM
EMBRACE THEIR CULTURE.
