Exercise

An interdiffusion experiment is performed at 1054C for 300 hours with


pure copper and pure nickel as end members of a diffusion couple. The
concentration profile is measured as shown in the following figure.
Inert markers placed within the couple move 200m to the copperside
during the period of the diffusion annealing. Determine the intrinsic
diffusivities, DCu and DNi at 1054C for a concentration near the Matano
interface, x=0.
