The National Crime Prevention Week (NCPW) is
celebrated annually pursuant to Presidential
Proclamation No. 461 dated August 31, 1994.

The proclamation was created to address the need


for crime prevention, which has always been
considered a national concern.

Duties and
Responsibilities of the
Committee
Formulate crime prevention programs;

Coordinate the maintenance of peace and order with the


following:

President of the Parent-Teachers

Community Association (PTCA) or

Parents Teachers Association (PTA), if any

the School Principal or Dean,


Recommend the conduct of seminars or
trainings on crime and drug prevention and
control

Conduct intensive information drive on crime


prevention, particularly on drug abuse,
alcoholism, illegal gambling, fraternity
quarrels, hazing and other undesirable
activities;
Report all illegal activities of students
and/or recommend the imposition of
appropriate sanction by the school
authorities which shall include but not
limited to a reprimand, transfer,
suspension or exclusion/expulsion from
the school.
