Parental Responsibility

Pananagutan pangmagulang
Pananagutan (responsibility) from the
noun sagot (answer or response); the
verb sagutin means to answer or
respond, and the adjective
managot, to be accountable or
answerable for.
Magulang=parent
*Parental responsibility means that
parents are morally held accountable
and answerable for their own children.
Parental Responsibility
This consists in the proper
upbringing, nurturing,
rearing up, training, and
disciplining of ones own
children in order for them to
grow with sufficient
knowledgeabout life, good
manners and right conduct,
and self-discipline.
Parental Responsibility
The process of molding a
childs character is like pot
making.

While the clay is still soft and

malleable, it is easy to form
and fashion it according to the
desired shape.
Parental Responsibility

Ang kahoy na likot baluktot,

hutukin mo hanggang
malambot,
kung malaki nat tumayog,
Mahirap na ang paghutok.
Ang gawa sa pagkabata,
Dala hanggang sa tumanda.

Kung ano ang pinagkabataan,

Ay siyang pagkakatandaan.
Parental Responsibility
At a young age, it is easy and
enjoyable to guide a growing
child and shepherd him to
develop good manners and right
conduct that parents do desire
for their offspring.
The most effective way to
inculcate values to a growing
child is by way of example.
Parental neglect regarding the
childs character formation
usually results in regrettable ends
in later life and the blame is
always heaped upon the parents.
Parental Responsibility
Children are the reflection of the parents
The core of parental responsibility is
in the family home.
Parents are high regarded as the
torch that sheds light on the right
paths of life that their children
should tread.
Parents have the great influence
upon the moral, intellectual, and
spiritual education of their
offspring.
Parental Responsibility
If you give everything that your
child wants without restraint,
someday you will shed tears.
(Boholanos)
Giving in to a persons
excessive desires will not bear
good outcome. (Illonggos)
A pampered child will not have
a good future. (Ilocanos)
*Parental responsibility takes
cognizance of the negative
effects of excesses and
extremes in upbringing
children.
Parental Responsibility
Laki sa Layaw
Over-indulgent parents yield to
the desires , whims, and caprices
of their children; they coddle and
glut them with all the available
luxury and comfort in life, thereby
weakening their personality and
character.
It impairs the developing self-
confidence and strength of
character of the growing child.
It would create problems for his
family in later life.
Parental Responsibility
A spoiled child will no doubt
bring shame to his family.
(Bisayans)
Ang anak na palalayawin, sa
amat inay hilahil.
Kung minsan ang awa ay
masakit pa sa hiwa
Ang batang di bihasa sa hapdit pasakit,
kaunting hirap lamang tiyak na tatangis
Ang inahing mapamupog, ang anak ay
sumasabog.
Parental Responsibility
Ang anak na di paluluhain, ina ang patatangisin
It is in this context that our forbears
see the necessity for inculcating the
value of discipline on the growing
child, by impressing upon the
childs mind the value of self-
restraint and moderation through
frequent repetition or forceful
admonition.
Parental Responsibility
Ang hampas ng magulang ay nakatataba

Parental responsibility also

connotes parental authority,
which consists in the
disciplinary action that
parents must do and carry
out to correct the childs
misbehavior or lack of
discipline.
Parental Responsibility
REMEMBER:
Parental responsibility is the most
important type of responsibility in
human society; for without this
responsibility, the family, which is
regarded as the smallest unit, cannot
long endure.

Wala nang ibang kabiguan na mas

hihigit pa sa kabiguan ng isang
magulang sa pagtupad ng kanyang
responsibilidad sa kanyang mga
supling.
