Traffic safety applications using vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V)
communication is an emerging and promising area.
Information and communication systems of vehicles are
the keys to make vehicles and transport systems
smart. IJVICS focuses on enhanced theories and
applications of these two systems and their integration. It
provides a forum for this important research area where
the systems may assist the driver or even control the
vehicle, big data analysis may help manufacturers build
more convenient, comfortable and safer vehicles and the
results may also be used to improve safety, efficiency and
convenience of transport systems.
Design and Analysis of Non-Pneumatic Tyre
(NPT) With Honeycomb Spokes Structure :

A conventional tyre is made up of air enclosed rubber
packed by means of compressed air. But it has
disadvantaged such as burst out while driving, the
necessity to keep interior pressure. An innovative
technology is under advancement to exploit only one of
its kind geometry that does not need compressed air to
hold up the load.Non-pneumatic tyre is a submissive of
cellular flexible spoke component which acts as air of a
traditional tyre. In this project we replace conventional
alloy wheel by flexible spoke structure. We investigated
hexagonal honeycomb along spokes designed for non-
pneumatic tyre by applying uni-axial load.
■ The spokes experience tension as well as
compression while they are rolling. So spokes
required to have stiffness and rigidity. Non-
pneumatic tyre are designed in ANSYS Workbench or
any cad software, (1) honeycomb tyre. ANSYS finite
element analysis is worn to find deformation and
stress in. Honeycomb tires are established to be
superior in terms of fatigue resistance and durability.
A Rear-View Side Mirror with Exterior
Lens to Improve Field of View:

 This paper presents a novel rear-view side mirror constructed with an external
lens and a planar mirror to improve aerodynamics and minimize the blind spot of
drivers. To resolve the drawback of the conventional side mirror, some vehicle
manufacturers have lately attempted to develop a camera-based solution to
replace traditional side mirrors. However, driving vehicles on public roads
without such side mirrors is illegal in most countries including the USA. The
proposed system avoids the external side-mirror that is currently used in
present-day vehicles. The proposed side mirror effectively solves the problems
caused by traditional automobile rear-view mirrors. Design of the exterior lens
was executed using a freeform optical technique to obtain an undistorted image
on the flat panel mirror. Two prototypes were manufactured to demonstrate the
performance of the proposed side-mirror. One had a protrusion length of 7.0 cm
from the vehicle body and a field of view (FOV) angle of 40° for the passenger
and driver sides, while the other mirror had an FOV of 25° with unit
magnification ratio and a protrusion length of 10.0 cm on the driver side. This
proposed side mirror can be an alternative to conventional side mirrors
DESIGN OF A SUPERBIKE PADDOCK
STAND:

• Two people are required to operate current superbike paddock stands in
order to elevate the superbike. Lifting the superbike alone using the current
design of paddock stand may be impractical and inconvenient for users. To
overcome this limitation, a new design of a superbike paddock stand was
conceived that could be operated by a single user. CAD and CAE tools using
CATIA V5R18 software were utilised in designing this new stand. A 3D
CAD model was developed and analysed through finite element analysis
(FEA) and a prototype fabricated for verification testing of the design. The
use of CAD and CAE tools saved much time in the design work and gave
the researchers and designers freedom in producing their own design.
However, the most important aspect of this design study was to design a
superbike paddock stand that is more practical and convenient for operation
by a single user.

• Different intake valve timings and fuel injection amounts were tested in order
to identify their effects on exhaust emissions and combustion characteristics
using variable valve actuation (VVA) in a Homogeneous Charge Compression
Ignition (HCCI) engine. The HCCI engine is a promising concept for future
automobile engines and stationary power plants. The two-stage ignition
process in a HCCI engine creates advanced ignition and stratified combustion,
which makes the ignition timing and combustion rate controllable. Meanwhile,
the periphery of the fuel-rich zone leads to fierce burning, which results in
slightly high NOx emissions. The experiments were conducted in a modified
single cylinder water-cooled diesel engine. In this experiment we use diesel,
bio-diesel and gasoline as the fuel at different mixing ratios. HCCI has
advantages in high thermal efficiency and low emissions and could possibly
become a promising combustion method in internal combustion engines.
