DEFINITIONS:
• Al-Haq: (meaning “Law in the Service of Man”) Is a peace-
keeping organization founded in 1979 by a group of Palestinian
lawyers.
• O.P.T.: Occupied Palestinian Territory.
• E.M.H.R.N.: Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network.
• Human Rights: Rights that are believed to belong to all people.
• U.N.: (meaning “United Nations”) Is an international organization
formed after WWII to promote global peace.
AL-HAQ: A BRIEF HISTORY.
Al-Haq was founded in 1979 during the
Israeli-Egyptian Peace Accord. Before 1986, it
was a private group that worked on how to
solve the human rights issue in the region. In
1986, Al-Haq began it peace campaign, which
was focused on securing the rights of the
Palestinian people. Since it began the
campaign, Al-Haq has been fighting against
Israel and other groups peacefully by
accusing the opposing organizations of
inhuman treatment towards the people of
Palestine.
 MISSION:
Al-Haq is a organization based in
Palestine founded in 1979. Al-
Haq’s primary goal is help protect
the rights of Palestinian families
through various methods. Al-Haq,
along with other organizations,
mostly monitors Israel’s actions in
the region and condemns them if

ACHIEVEMENTS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
• Al-Haq along with the U.N. and the E.M.H.R.N. have made many
strides towards keeping the peace between Palestine and Israel.
• Al-Haq has been a influential group within the O.P.T., helping to
run and process elections.
• Al-Haq has been able to greatly document and display acts that
violate human rights in the region, bringing to justice those who
committed the acts.
