Experimental procedure

1. Two different branches from a same

hibiscus plant are choosen (k1,k2)
2. Both branches are labeled as branch A
and branch B (k1)
3. This plant is left in the sun and enough
nutrient and water is given (k1)
4. A knife is used to remove a complete ring
of bark from branch A (k1)
5. Vaseline is applied on the exposed tissue
to prevent air from entering the xylem
tissue that may be cut accidentally (k5)
6. After two month , the condition and the
diameter of the branch above the ring is
measured (k3)
7. Step 6 is repeated for branch B (k4)
8. The observation are recorded in a table //
tabulate the data (k1)
