• WHAT IS PERSONALITY??

 No one has arrived yet at a

definitive, universally accepted
definition of personality.

 One definition of personality is

typical and characteristics ways
people behave.

 The efforts to measure

personality have moved into two
directions:
  OBJECTIVE PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT

 The objective approach to

personality assessment relies on
self-report questionnaires that are
economical but suffer from
questionable validity, test taker’s
perception of the social desirability
of answers and faking.
 PROJECTIVE PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT

 Projective tests are more flexible than the

objective personality tests but suffer from
questionable validity and greater expenses.

 Projective personality assessment is

based on the theory that when
individuals are presented with
suggestive and ambiguous stimuli ,
these stimuli will elicit responses that
are fairly rigid and reflective of
conscious or unconscious motives,
beliefs, or wishes.
 PLANNING A SCHOOL- OR DISTRICT-
WIDE TESTING PROGRAM

In planning a school-or district-wide

are recommended:
