HIGHER EDUCATION
A WAY TO HALL OF FAME

“THE ONE WHO HAS A WHY TO LIVE CAN ALMOST BEAR ANY HOW”
This quotation always fills me with inspiration whenever I feel tired and down.
And the best way to find this “why” is the way of Education. Education doesn’t
mean the degrees that we get after cramming the books. Education means that
understanding which we get by our indulgence into cascade of life, revival of
conscience and understanding the importance of our loved ones.
To do a right thing under the mercy of ALLAH and guidance of Quran is important
but to do that thing at right time is also significant. We can’t pretend that we
haven’t been told, we’ve heard the proverbs, “A stitch at time saves nine” & “Early
bird catches the worm”. We’ve heard the philosophers, heard our grandparents
warning us about wastage of time, and heard the poets urging us to seize the day ”
So never be afraid of risks, come out, do play your part, ask for Allah’s mercy and
then see yourself standing in the Hall of fame where everyone is going to know
your name.
The poor man is not he who is without a cent,
but he who is without a dream
PROBLEMS FACING FOR HIGHER EDUCATION

Higher education is the education after secondary school level. If we look around,
we will see a numbers of inter pass students with 1 st division. But the point is that
we should be exceptional as compared to others. After passing the intermediate
class, there is a turning point of our educational career. No doubt, our every career
is already decided by Allah Almighty but we have to make path to reach that
destination what is decided by Allah Almighty
A number of students try their best to get admission in famous universities. But
they have to face disappointment due to following reasons:
◆ They get too less marks to get admission on merit
◆ They are not able to pay university fee and other expenses
◆ Lake of Awareness
◆ They are not familiar with the syllabus and pattern of entry test
◆ Family restrictions (Especially for females) First I will discuss those students
who fail to get admission due to their fewer marks. Most of them repeat subjects to
improve their marks. According to my point of view, all the students should not
repeat at this stage. Only those students should repeat subjects who were very
close to the merit. The students who have much difference in their marks and the
university merit should not waste their time in repeating subjects. If they are
financially strong they should go for private well reputed
university such as Comsats and University of Lahore etc.
PROBLEMS FACING FOR
HIGHER EDUCATION

Lake of awareness is another important factor of the failure in admission.

Most of the students do not know about different universities and their
admission deadlines. Internet is the best source which can help the students
at this stage. FCS (An educational Society in Farooqbad) is a platform which
can provide much information for such students.
It is a proverb that “Practice makes a man perfect”. There should be proper
practice for entry test to get admission. Almost every Government and Semi
Government University has started to arrange an entrance test in Science as
well as in Arts fields. For example, now Punjab University has also started
entry test system for admission in MBA, M.SC (IT) and HRM etc. Most of the
books are available in market, but these books can only help you about the
test pattern and inform you about the type of questions that are asked in
entry test. Students can also get idea from the past papers available in the
market for this purpose FCS may conduct Pre entry test first time in
Farooqbad.

DIFFICULTIES FOR SELECTION
OF PROFESSIONAL DEGREE
"One step - choosing a goal and sticking to it changes
everything.”
After completing our intermediate, we decide our field. Especially those
students who pass their FSc have a lot of choices. Some have a dream to
become a doctor, some want to become engineers, some have a passion to
join armed forces, some have urge for civil services and some want to go for
business. It’s another story that how students manage to get excellent marks
in FSc. But many students having outstanding marks cannot make their way
to universities. There are a lot of reasons behind that. One of those is lack of
knowledge and proper guidance. There is a very common and simple tip to
become a successful professional: always choose field of your interest. There
is a common trend in Farooqbad or you can say all over Pakistan that girls go
for pre-medical and boys for pre-engineering, after their matriculation.
These groups basically define a path for you. But this trend is the main
reason behind the failure of many students. What if a girl doesn’t have
interest in medical field? What if a boy wants to study business management
instead of engineering? What if someone has excellent writing skills and
wants to go for CSS? What if some patriot wants to defend Pakistan as a
part of her military instead of studying commerce? Most of the people do not
pay heed to their interest and follow the common trend. And then what
happens as a result? A girl having 700 marks in matriculation chooses FSc
DIFFICULTIES FOR SELECTION
OF PROFESSIONAL DEGREE
These are just two instances of the consequences of choosing a wrong line; the
one against your own liking. But the environment we are living in is teemed
with such examples. This attitude is not only destroying our youth but also
damaging their minds and thoughts. Everyone can make a name in his/her field
of interest. A man who is an engineer by his own choice would be far more
skilled and professional than the one who is an engineer by force. A
professional study is the need of the day. When you compare two students, one
getting education from a famous university and the other studying in private
institute or enrolled in a local college, you’ll see the difference; difference in
their behavior, in their confidence level, in their language and in their way of
talking, walking, interacting and behaving. The purpose of an institution is not
only to teach the books and award the degrees. These institutes make a man, a
human being. They teach us the moral values, the way to communicate with
others and many other things. Indeed, a university grooms our personality and
turn us from a pupil to a mentor. So let’s take a step ahead, aiming for
professional education and then for higher education. Whatever field you
choose for study doesn’t matter, the highest degree should be in your hands,
and the thing which matters is your interest
We do not want you to repeat the mistakes people have made. The youth is the
future of Pakistan so we are supposed to do at least something for our
homeland and be a responsible citizen. We are supposed to support our family
as well as serve our nation. The society which has brought us up needs us for

USE FULL TIPS FOR FINDING
University Rankings
A UNIVERSITY
University rankings by subject can be especially useful. These help you to find the
best universities for your area of interest – you may find that the ordering is quite
different compared to the overall ranking. As well as looking at the rankings, it can
also be useful to check out the methodology behind them. This explains how the
universities were assessed, and why one institution ranks above another. If you have
a particular region of the country in mind, it may be useful to consult regional
rankings.

Expert commentary on universities

There must be some expert commentary – articles written by people who know a lot
about higher education, and are able to offer advice and speculate about future
developments. Keep an eye out for articles about areas you’re interested in, and if
you use social media such as Twitter, make sure you’re following a few experts in
the sector.

University fairs
Once you’ve started to gain a clearer idea of what you’re looking for, it can be
useful to attend a university fair, where you can meet university representatives
face to face and get a better idea of what life is really like at that university, what
the application process involves, and to resolve any other questions you have.
