Course Requirements

PAPER PRESENTATION
This will serve as the final examination/project of the
course. Students have to look for a historical marker in the
Province of Batangas and further study its history and
significance to the Philippines’ road to independence. The
hard copy of the paper should be submitted a week
before the presentation. Students shall prepare a slide
deck to present their work. A rubric will be used to grade
student’s individual and group performance.

Students are expected to actively participate in the various


activities prepared by the instructor. To be part of the
learning community, they are required to accomplish
various tasks required in the course while adhering to the
set standards prescribed by the instructors.

This will be administered two weeks after the semi-final

1. Early visited Mindoro called our nation ”Ma-yi”.This


means land of gold, because they bought gold in
Mindoro.
2. When came in 1521 he called the Philippines
“ARCHIPELAGO OF ST. LAZARUS” But the name did not
become popular.

3. In 1543, a Spanish Explorer named RUY LOPEZ DE


VILLALOBOS gave the name “FELIPINAS” to the
