• To know different emotions among adolescents.

• To develop coping skills that will handle different


emotions.

• To demonstrate different emotional responses in


particular circumstances.

Emotion

• Is your reaction to any stimulus


and comes from your limbic
system, the area in your brain
that reacts automatically to
world around you without your
rational thought or reasoning
(Hasson, 2012).

• All emotions have reasons as


to why you feel them.
What is Emotional Intelligence?

• Emotional intelligence (EI) is the


capacity for understanding our own
feelings and the feelings of others, for
motivating ourselves, and for
managing our emotions effectively in
our relationships.

• According to Daniel Goleman, one of the
proponents of emotion intelligence,
emotional intelligence includes the
individuals ability to motivate oneself
despite of frustrations, the capacity to
control impulses, and the ability to
empathize others.

• Refers to the person’s


appraisal of the situation.
So when you interpret an
experience as threatening,
negative emotions such as
anger or anxiety may be
felt.
2. Physical Component
• Is the body’s
reaction to feelings
or emotions. When
you are anxious,
your heartbeat
becomes faster or
may even
experience fainting.
3. Behavioral Component

• Is the action tendency deal with certain


emotions such as evading frightening
situation or leaving unfinished task
because of boredom.

precision in describing feelings and blends of feelings

your emotions to direct your actions, make
decisions, and work with your reason to
your advantage.
