Course Description

This course introduces students to established


methodologies for the analysis, design, development and
implementation of information systems. This aims to
provide students with the skills to identify and analyze
business problems and how to employ methodologies, tools
and techniques to address these problems with technology-
based solutions.
Course Objectives
 Define and describe phases of system development life cycle
 How information systems support business requirements and
strategies
 How systems analysts interact with users, management and other
information systems professionals
 Evaluate systems development options
 Familiarize with tools and techniques for doing systems design and
development
 Determine methods for evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency
of a system
