Introduction to Dynamic Analysis

in Pro-e Wildfire 5.0

Since we know the static analysis and mechanism technique used in Pro-e,
we will shift to dynamic analysis. These are the steps to achieve dynamic
analysis. Remember this that you need a specific part upon which u
require a dynamic analysis. Dynamic analysis requires an assembly file
and a component upon which you require dynamic analysis
STEPS INVOLVED:
1. Make an assembly, in this particular example a pin joint between the gear and
the shaft as shown. You need joints for dynamic analysis (like pin, slider, cylinder
etc)
2. Go to mechanism, by clicking on applications and then mechanism. When you do that
there will be certain icons that appears on the right and left side of your window. The
mechanism tree on the left (blue rectangle) and the mechanism icon on the right (red
rectangle)
3. Install servo motor, to do that click on the servo motor icon, a dialogue box will appear,
give the motion axis and then give specification of the motor. (as taught)

Icon

Specify the values of position, velocity

and acceleration by giving values in A
and selecting it from the drop box.
Now install a point force by selecting the forces/torque option in the right icon tabs. (just
below dampers option). After selecting the force/torque option

Name the force u want to install

Select the option to body torque

Click on the body (gear part)

Select option
To user defined

Write the expression by clicking on the add expression icon and then
write the expression as per required (in our case is a sine wave)
Now click on the analysis studies icon and a dialogue box appears. Select name to
your specified name analysis, select type to Dynamic and then click on run
Next click on the playback option (below the analysis study icon used previously). A wondow
will appear. Click on the save button.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU ARE SAVING THE SAME RESULT SET WHICH U RUN IN
THE PREVIOUS STEP. Like in our case the analysis definition 6 which was run in
previous step
Next step, go to file and then click on use in structure icon
This dialogue box will appear, Ensure that your result set is the same as we used earlier. (in
our case analysis definition 6). Select the body, by clicking on the arrow icon and then click
on the body (in this the gear) and then click on the component arrow icon and then again
click on the gear in our example. In dynamic our body and component are same. So click on
the same body. Change the evaluate option to single Max load and then click on ok/
Now open the part where we applied the load, (in our example the Gear part). (remember we
have to open the part file) then click on the mechanica option (application- mechanica
option)

Go to insert and then click on mechanism load. Load will automatically appear on the
gear. Apply constraints and material to the part as per taught.
Now go to load set on the model tree, these load will be appearing on ur model tree. Right click
on the first three load set and edit definition. Select the inner part (where the external force
was applied) and then press ok. Remember u have to edit all three of these forces.
Then apply the stress analysis studies (the three pink box icons) select static analysis, write
the name of it (as already taught) and then click start run (green flag) and then wait for the
diagnostic box . When run completed appears, click on the mechanism analysis icon (rainbow
colored icon)
Run ok and see the results, this is the dynamic analysis of the gear. Note that the effect
are on certain teeth of the gear and certain areas. This is all for dynamic analysis
