Based on the problems related to a football match

introduction
 Any activity is influenced by the fact that has been
incorporated in the context of the matter through decision
making. The importance of decision making can be realized in
terms of acquiring success in relation to any act.
 In this context of the study, the decision making process and
issues related to it has been delivered through a certain scenario
that depicts that a fund raising programme is being held in
order to support cancer patients.
 A football match between two warehouses of wren kitchens has
been conducted (Chao, 2011).
 Thus, the issues related to the decision making has also been
discussed in this regard.
Decision making cycle
 Decision making models are the main aspects in taking the
right decision, thus, there are four steps in the context of
the decision making model.
 The four steps can be delivered in the following manner
 First it is imperative to identify the problems
 Determining solutions of the problem
 Implementing the solution of the problems
Issues of decision making
 In the context of the study the issues regarding the
decision making processes can be detected through
the issues that have been detected in the decision to
conduct a football match.
 Firstly, the issues can appear in the form of less
amount of ticket selling as not every individual is
interested in such fund raising programme.
 Secondly, the lack of trust that the fund collected n
this manner would be delivered to the patients who
have cancer.
 Another issue can be recognized in terms of less
amount of fund raising that could turn into a big
disaster.
Application of GOFER model
 The GOFER model has been implemented in this context in order to deliver
the decision making process in the context of the scenario.
 Thus the first step of the GOFER model depicts the goal or the objective of
the football match is to raising findings for the cancer patients.
 Secondly, the option is something that provides alternative scope in order to
conduct things without any complication. Therefore, the group that was
conducting the football match opt for a change in date as an option due to
bad weather.
 The fact is to identify the source of issues that has emerged due to the
change of date of the football match.
 The effects have been realized in this regard through the less amount of
ticket to be sold.
 Thus review should be done on the entire situation that would help in
delivering solution to this matter (Elbasha and Chhatwal, 2015).
The issues in the decision making
 In accordance with the GOFER model it has been realized that
the issue in this context is that the change of date and its impact
on the match and its outcomes.
 Thus as per the decision making model the first thing that
should be performed in this regard is that the identification of
the problem and determining the solution.
 Hence, solution can be delivered in this regard that the group
members must discuss among them a particular venue that
would be suitable for the football match while reducing the
chances of ticket to be sold in fewer amounts.
 On the other hand, in accordance with the third step
implementation of the solution that can be possible through
group decision making process (Yahaya and Abu‐Bakar, 2007).
Collecting data
 In order to implement the solution the group members need to
collect information regarding the rescheduling the data of the
football match.
 First they need to fix a date with the manager of wren kitchens
in order to discuss whether the data can be rescheduled.
 Secondly, the group members need to perform this task in order
to assure the date would be changed.
 Thirdly, the meeting is essential in relation to fix date and time
for preparing the court for the football match.
 Finally the most important thing is that the players who are
willing to play and the group members should ensure that all
the players are committed to the novel propose and would be
able to perform at their best.
Consequences o the decision making
process

 The most common problems or consequences that can

emerge in this matter are that no money or lee amount of
money would be collected for the ill people.
 On the other hand, there are many possibilities that people
would not come to see the match due to bad weather or
lack of interest.
 Solution in this context can be realized in terms of the
dedicated players who would participate in the Sunday
football league who would help in eliminating the
problems in this regard.
Group Formation of Football
match as per Tuchman’s Theory

 In order to form a successful group for the football match for

the fundraising charity event for supporting Macmillan Cancer
Support Charity, we have referred Tuckman’s Theory. The
possible outcome of this theory is:
 To achieve very effective and satisfying result.
 Members can easily find solutions by using proper controls.
 The performance based on this theory is as follows:
 Team members works in collaboration.
 Team members care about each other.
 The team has a unique identity of themselves.
 All the team members are interdependent (Cassidy, K. 2007).

 All the team members agree to this theory regarding its process of problem solving.
Therefore, the norms of the football team are as follows:
 Any decision is made through consensus building and negotiations.
 Next comes the storming session of the team in order to identify the control and
power of each member, communication skills of each and the identifying resources.
Hence, by storming the captain can understand:
 The difference in ideas, opinions and feelings of the team members.
 Their reaction to his leadership.
 Whether the members are acting independently or are interdependent.
 Team members are motivated by this theory. In order to establish basic expectations,
identification of similarities and to make the members follow a particular goal the
forming of the team according to this theory is a must. It makes:
 Bonds and contacts.
 Develop trust.
 Dependency of members (Seck, M. and Helton, L. 2014).

match as per Tuchman’s Theory

 Certain action steps should be taken based on Tuckman Theory in case of
group formation for Football Match. Such as:
 Forming to Storming:
 A mission is to be set.
 Goal is to be set.
 Roles are to be established.
 Sometimes, it is necessary to recognize for the need to step out of the forming
stage.
 Leader should be directive.
 Find ways for trust building.
 Set a reward structure.
 It is a Risk taking procedure.
 It brings the whole group together for a goal.
 It asserts some powers and grants all to be in the team ( Hamlin, A. and
Stemplowska, Z. 2012).

 Storming to Norming :
 Leader should create a positive environment for the group for winning the match.
 Leader should expect positive results.
 Publicizing of the winning team should be done.
 Individual member’s roles and responsibilities must be recognized.
 Everybody must listen to each other and buy regarding activities and objectives.
 Set time.
 Each member should work actively in order to win.
 All should have a positive vision towards the outcome of the match.
 Group should accept both positive and negative feedbacks.
 Football team should play according to their commitments (Austin, G. 2013).
 Norming to Performing:
 Group members have to maintain tradition.
 They have to praise each other for motivation and enthusiasm.
 Self evaluation is necessary.
Group Formation of Football
match as per Tuchman’s Theory

 Leadership role should be chosen according to the best
performances and decision making skills.
 Team should share their success and reward with
everybody.
 Good communication among each other is very important.
 All the responsibilities should be equally shared.
 Covey messages freely within the football group.
 Time commitment is of utmost importance.
 Once won, next raise the aim of winning.
 Maintains of team spirit and selection of new members
should be respected (Bonebright, D. 2010).

Conclusion
 To conclude this point it can be said that solutions can be
implemented through interacting with people face to face
and deliver the Nobel cause of the football match to the
viewers.
 On the other hand, it can be said that the decision making
process is really important in order to conduct the football
match with effectiveness and successfully.
 The gofer model has helped in assessing the causes, issues,
and assessment of the solution in the context of the
football match.
 The Tuckman’s theory also helped in assessing the issue
and the implemented solution in this regard.
