Advantages

• For better understand the relationship of science

• To develop better and more accurate graph
• To obtain more accurate readings
• Can use anytime and anywhere when have internet and
pc.
Disadvantage

• Need internet connection.

• Hard to understand how the simulation works.
• Difficult to intepret result if do not understand the software
very well.
Introduction

• What is STELLA?
- A computer program that allow us to use simulation and
modeling.
• This software can be manipulated and altered in many
ways.
Graph 1:
• The graph is the simulation of relationship
between palm oil, mice and owl
• At the beginning, the population of mice
starts to drop. In the middle of the graph it
increases but at the end of the graph it
decreases again .
• For the population of the owl, the number of
owl rise and increases and but start to drop
to the lowest point. After the lowest point, the
population of owl starts to increase. There is
another sudden drop but end up rising at the
end of the graph.
• For the amount of the oil palm, it increases
throughout the graph.

red: palm oil
Graph 2
• The population of mice decreases to
at the beginning and start to increase
slowly at the middle of the graph. After
the peak, the population of mice starts
to drop until the end of the graph.
• For the population of the owl, there is
a sudden drop after a slightly increase
at the beginning of the graph. After
that, the population of the owl starts to
increase until the end of the graph.
• The amount of oil palm increases
throughout the graph.

red: palm oil
Graph 3
• The population of mice increase slowly at
the beginning of the graph but starts to
increase quickly at the middle of the graph.
At the end of the graph, the population of
mice increases .
• For the population of owl, it drops to zero
in a sudden and stays zero throughout the
graph.
• The amount of the oil palm increase from
the beginning until middle of the graph. As
the end of the graph, the amount of the oil
palm starts to drop.

pink: mice
red: palm oil
Conclusion

• Based on the graph, we know about the relationship

between palm oil, mice and owl in a food chain.
• When the number of owl increases, the number of mice
decreases.
• When there is no mice, it means the number of palm oil
increases.
• When the number of owl decreases, the number of mice
will increase hence the number of palm oil will decreases.
