Summer Lawn Care


I want to start a summer only business, it will be a lawn care company. [FabiansLandscaping]
My goal here is to be direct and honest, I am determined to get accepted to your ‘summer company’.
I have book experience through a business course and it has definitely drove me here to introduce my want’s and needs to
your company.
To begin, my business in specific will be presented as a summer only, on call job.
In summary of my lawn care business, I will be using social media to market, Signs, company vehicles (Trucks with signs and
lawn care equipment present), A website and business cards. I will use the lowest prices at the best rate, due to being only on
call, I will be contacted and I will manage the employees to their destination and the pay split. Me as the manager will make
35% of every cut, it is a small summer business and there will be no fixed payments, it will be impossible specifically due to a
maximum of 3-5 employees and no steady shifts. I will have time management sheets if we are not all working together at
the same time, to dictate hours and amount of money received, It all varys between the customers and their requests. Our
company will state a starting price e.g. ($50 for one hours work, $80 for two hours work) in which will be split evenly
between whomever happens to be working and whom has done the work.
There are few competitors within the market of lawn care and landscaping, our goal is to beat them or stand above them in
ways of time, quality and price. Which will be dictated by feedback by customers as well as people interested in having us
work for them. I will use my management knowledge and entrepreneurial knowledge I have studied over the course of time
as a helpful motivational push for my workers and I myself.
With the money I will receive being accepted to your program (summer company) will begin my business strongly by
supplying enough products (lawn mowers, weed whackers), business cards and a website. It wont be a regret as the outlook
of the present plan is already strongly voted for and much needed all summer. It will be very useful to begin a real business
through the government and a great investment for myself and employees/ partners. I want to begin a real business and
continue to invest in it for each year there is available work; likely turn it into something bigger in the end.
Experience and skill will be achieved only by doing it.
Business description

Industry Products. Operators in this industry provide landscape care and maintenance services, including planting trees, shrubs,
flowers, lawns or gardens. Industry companies may also design landscape plans or construct walkways, retaining walls, decks, fences,
ponds and similar structures.
Presently I am looking at a good opportunity for myself and my collaborators due to a good demand in lawn care, specifically in my
area (region). When I am available to have a company vehicle It will become a region-wide landscape business.
I intend to have a useful and trusted business, not just a one hit wonder situation. My business will stand out simply because of it’s
dedication and availability since well, that’s all I/we will have to focus on for the season, and have 2-3 seasons to develop. I get a call,
me and my employees/ partners gather what we need, plan who does what, who is needed, and most importantly where and what
the costumer is seeking. Once said and done it will be likely we are recommended.

As of now [FabiansLandscaping] Is just growing roots, no branches or leaves. Just a plan and a name;
as of marketing, is planned to be successful using modern tactics and attractions as well as post-
modern tactics which makes our marketing unique oppose to others it will be made bigger than it
even needs to be, that’s where the branches come in. After all succeeds, well the leaves grow into
place; the strategies have grown and we are known to our audience.
Competitive analysis
Current competitors- My current competitors, a good sized competition. We have Paul's lawn care whom is a summer/ self owned business
and anyone else whom takes care of landscaping privately.
What market they target- They target just about everyone and everywhere there is a demand, mostly publicly to the region considering they
have transportation.
Are they growing or scaling back- They seem to have kept a steady paste over the past few years of my knowledge. Anyone besides the small
business(‘s) I have no knowledge.
How my company will be different- My company (FabiansLandscaping) will tackle whatever competitive are in or are falling out of the market
simply by using our strongest marketing strategies. Transportation will be available for the most part and will be a must for the most part,
besides we will win over the other competitors strength by taking our area into our hands to the point no one else will be needed each and
every summer. Our multi-tasking skill and reasonable prices will be a great advantage above others all together.
If my competitors drop out- I plan to use their strategies and almost recover their business in my own way, That makes a big window for us to
overcome any weaknesses we have and win over any client’s we didn’t have in the beginning. We will grow our/my business greatly.
If new competitors enter the market- I will take that to my advantage, new competitors means more competition all together. I will not directly
compete because everyone wants relatively the same thing, though I will be defensive and do what I can to keep my business strong and above
in one way or another (lower prices to a max-minimum, branch out to more employees, use tactics to sell out more).
Design and Development Plan
We are a landscaping company designed ourselves to treat lawns (land) and anything within our functionality. We may develop newer and
efficient strategies within the market and generality of the Landscaping business in general.

Our development of course relies on our budget, at a successful standpoint there will be no problem developing our employees, our strategies
and the company all as one. However it has to start off slow and steady like anything else.

We have to spend on equipment- Lawn mowers (preferably 2) $250.00 brand new


- Weed whackers (2 shall suffice) $150.00
- Gloves, protective glasses, ear plugs (general equipment) $100-200
Employees and I split pay (varies on clients pay) it will be evenly cut.

Marketing (business cards, website, Signs, vehicle if needed) $500-1000.00

That is the budget to kick-start my company.
Operations and Management Plan

[FabiansLandscaping] Run from home in the centre of a rural city. This is effective to the business of course for the simple fact of customers.
Though not all the land it big is an advantage of ours (bigger pay for less area but more detailed work). Rural city, meaning lawnmower shops,
basic super centres to provide us with equipment in all aspects. Its easy to get door to door and find clients, parking may or may not be a
particular issue due to many nearby clients (walking distance), it will be unnecessary for clients to accompany my (shop, place, business
warehouse) unless discussed.

Due to no school (summer job) operating hours will vary depending on our private schedules. If they are clear, than from dawn to dusk we will
operate if required. Basically the few partners and employees will all work as a team to conquer a job as effectively and efficiently as possible.
No dedicated shift work is going to be acquired though it will be done in an orderly fashion.
As we will provide many and just about any service needed with the typical equipment and skill we concede. We will have our basic
lawnmower businesses supply us with our equipment (most of them carry more than just lawnmowers). We will not have more equipment
than needed, there will be no wasting time or money.
Financial Factors

General lawn cut/trim $20-50 depending on size and gas used


General Weed trimming $10-30 depending on string, size and gas used
Flipping, trimming, building small gardens $50-100+ depending on material quality, amount used etc.

Considering it is not charged by the hour because it may be more or less than an hour each time (variables) there is no fixed operating
expense.
Amount needed to meet/reach our common goal $3-4000.00 - $3000.00 (summer company program)
