In the first assessment, you can see that DB (eighth-grade student) scored level 5
overall and two or more grade levels below on all four domains, which consistently
verifies his overall placement. This student had a tumultuous seventh- grade year
with two long-term subs, where little to no learning took place. This experience can
account for his scores.

After working diligently for five and a half months, DB made dramatic growth on
three of the four domains where the focus was placed for eighth-grade. He
improved by 2.5-grade levels in Number and Operations with a 27-point increase.
He improved by an impressive four grade levels in Algebra and Algebraic thinking
with a 66-point increase and reached grade-level. He also improved by 2.5 years in
Measurement and Data with a 30-point increase.
