About Maha Metro
 The approval for the Pune Metro Rail Project was granted by the Union
Cabinet and duly notified by MoUD, Govt. of India vide letter No. K-
14011/11/2015/MRTS-IV dated 07/12/2016 and also by Govt. of Maharashtra
vide GR No. PMR 3316/CR-132/UD-7 dated 23/12/2016.

 Maharashtra Metro Corporation Ltd. (MAHA Metro) came into existence on


23rdJanuary 2017, by way of reconstitution of the existing Nagpur Metro
Rail Corporation Ltd. (NMRCL), a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) created as
a 50:50 JV between GOI and GOM. MAHA Metro is responsible for
executing the Nagpur Metro Rail Project and Pune Metro Rail Project.

Elevated Viaduct Structure

 The proposed viaduct structure for Pune Metro is Pre-cast segmental box girder, carrying two
tracks supported on single pier located on the median of the road.
 Road clearance of 5.5 m is ensured below the viaduct structure.
 The foundation shall be mainly Open foundation while pile foundation would be done at certain
locations.
 The superstructure shall be pre-cast segmental construction which will cause minimal
inconvenience to vehicular moment during the execution stage.
Underground section

 Rail level at midsection in tunneling portion shall


be kept at least 12 m below the ground level so
that a cover of 6m is available over the tunnels.
 Track center in underground section to be
constructed by cut and cover method is 4.5m.

 At stations, the desirable depth of rail below ground


level is 12.5 m, Track center in underground section
to be constructed by Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM)
is 15.05 m to accommodate a 12 m wide island
platform.

4. Setting up Office • One office measuring 500 sqm. has been taken on lease from PCMC.
• Second office 200 sqm. has also been taken on lease from Ghole Road Museum.

5. Utility Mapping • The Mapping of existing utilities (Electricity, Water pipe, Cable, Telecom etc.) has started in Consultation with
State Govt. officials.
