Overview of CCA and PCA
 Controlling Area for CCA
• Standard Hierarchy
• Settings, like Version, activating components,
assign company code
 Number Ranges for CO documents (copied from a
company code 0001 or 1000)
 Documents groups, within group documents
types, Document type COIN
 Maintain versions, and planned versions
 Create Primary Cost elements, primary
revenue elements. Cost element type is 1,
and revenue element type 11.
 First time, batch input session to create all
the cost elements. Three steps
 Any new account created from then on,
cost element can be created on fs00, ka01
 Secondary cost elements, are created
using ka06. Type of secondary cost
elements are 41, 42, 43. OH cost element,
Assessment, Activity cost elements
 Maintain standard hierarchy and Create
cost centers. During creation of cost
centers, profit center should be
assigned. Assign it after the profit
centers are created.
 Cost center indicators, blocking the
revenues for cost centers.
 Post planned values for cost elements,
KP06.
 Post actual values for cost elements, by
changing the account field status group
to G004.
 Verify the cost center reports to check
planned and actual values
 Assessments and Distributions
• Cycles, segments, senders, receivers, fixed
portions, fixed percentages, fixed amounts
• Secondary cost elements for Assessments
• Secondary elements represent activity names
• Distribution is to move costs from one CO
object to another, using Primary cost elements
• Assessments are secondary cost elements, to
move from one CO object to other. Usually
from Cost center.
• If direct posting are done to an Order, (eg
Internal order) cost movement is called
Settlement
 Post planned activity values on cost centers,
and calculate activity prices.
• KP26 is to post planned activity
• Variable and fixed costs for the activity
• KSBT is display for activity price
• KSPI calculates Plan Activity Price
• KSII calculates Actual Activity Price
• For actual activity price calculation, actual
postings, and actual activity confirmations
from Production Orders
• KP26 has planned activity hours, for example
1000 hours of machining
• This is planned for a particular cost center
• All the planned values at that cost centers
divided by the planned activity gives the
planned activity price, Use KSPI for calculation
Additional Aspects
 Indirect activity allocation
 Planner profiles, Report painter

 Reconciliation ledger

• Any transaction in CO, if it requires a

posting back to FI, recon ledger will
take care of that.
PCA
 Maintain Controlling area
 Create Dummy profit center
 Number Ranges for PCA documents
 Create Standard hierarchy and Profit
centers
 Update your cost centers with Profit centers
 Post expenses, FI, CO, and PC documents
will be created
 Change the Field status group to G029
 Check profit center reports, to see actual
posting
 7KE1 to post planned values for
profit centers
 1KE0 to transfer planned data for

cost elements to PCA

 Run Assessments and Distributions
for PC
New GL
 Create Company code, Tolerance Group,
Document Number Ranges, Retained
Earnings Account, Chart of account, and
Account groups
 Reuse Fiscal year Variant, Posting Period
Variant, Field Status Variant
 Create Multiple Ledger, one Leading ledger,
and as many non leading ledgers
 Create Ledger Groups. By default, every
ledger has a group by the same name
 No Ledger group specified during the
transaction posts to all Ledgers
 Assign Item Category for all the accounts
created, 01000 for BS accounts, and 20000 for
Expense accounts Fin Acc New -> GL New ->
Business Tran -> Document Splitting ->
Classify GL accounts for Doc Splitting
 Post to GL from FB50L, post to all ledgers, and
selectively
 Check the balances on FAGLL03
 To post to a non leading ledger, the document
types allowed for non leading ledger should be
assigned, and a number range should be
provided.
 Number range for Non leading ledger is Fin Acc
New -> Fin Acc Glo Setting -> Document ->
Doc Types -> Define Doc types for Entry View
in a Ledger
 Document Splitting – Passive, Active, and
Zero Balance Splitting. The splitting is done
in that order.
 Passive does not need any configuration,
and the split info is received from split info
table from the previous transaction.
 Previous transaction can be invoice posting
for payment transaction
 Zero balance splitting can be for a profit
center, or a segment, or a business area
 If a zero balance splitting is configured,
system splits the line items, based upon the
split line item
 Under the Extended document
splitting, rule should be activated for
different business transactions.
 Activated item categories for Vendor

Invoice business transaction Refer to
