curriculum based on the students response.

School Managements

Tracks and Stands to implement on their schools.

that are applicable to the new curriculum.
Students

about the new curriculum and to decide what appropriate Tracks and
Strands they should acquire in relation to their college courses,
additionally the students will also know the changes and the benefits of
the new curriculum.

about the advantages of the new curriculum.

Other researchers

about the perspective of high school students on the new curriculum.
Participants (Scope)
The researchers interviewed 3 qualified
participants supported by the informed
consent form and the letter of agreement.
Gathering of Information
1 The researchers conducted formulated purposes on their research
paper and formulated questions in order to conduct an interview,
where they have agreed to co it in a specific place and the
interviewers also recorded the answer of the respondents.

2 The responses of the participants were transcribed.

3 The researchers uses primary and secondary sources in their

research paper and uses thematic analysis to formulate their
findings, conclusion, and recommendation.
Findings

Participant no. 001

-stated that K-12 is a beneficial curriculum
-states that intelligence is innate within the student
and does not depend on the curriculum
-stated that the K-12 presents a challenge to him but
he recognizes it as a tool which helps him enhance
himself
-expresses that he finds the new curriculum effective
and efficient.
Participant no. 002
-looked on the practicality of K-12 curriculum beyond
its academic aspect
-the work employability of students after the K-12
program
-advantage of students who do not want to pursue a
college degree, but he defeats this purpose as he said
that graduating Senior high school does not make the
student a competitive applicant, he added that it would
be better to pursue a college degree for better chances
of being employed.
Participant no. 003
-mentioned that this new curriculum offers more advanced
lessons which positively affect his mastery of subject
-expressed that the teachers are having a hard time coping
up with the new education system which leads to
frustration; the teaching techniques of the teachers are
efficient but not really effective
-has surpassed the adjustment period and his grades are in
normal level, considering that he is an honor student, but
he finds the new curriculum a bit challenging not only to
the students but to the teachers as well.
Conclusion

Based from the gathered data and information the

researchers got, they concluded that there is both positive
and negative side upon implementing of K to 12, just for
example the positive would be a good tool in preparation to
college and also more opportunities in terms of job finding,
in which unlike before Filipino professionals and Filipino
college graduates are not recognized by other countries find
the ten-year basic education curriculum insufficient
(K12Philippines, 2015).
Since for the fact that after graduating senior high the
students’ age would likely be 18, they can ready for
employment, entrepreneurship, middle level skills
development, and higher education upon graduation. Another
positive side is that teachers have used more advanced and
faster paced teaching techniques. While negative side for
example would be there would be some adjustments and hard
time coping up with the new education system which leads to
frustration, teaching techniques of the teachers are efficient
but not really effective, and also challenging not only to the
students but also to the teachers, as stated by participant no.
003.
Recommendation

The researchers recommended that the government

should provide funds for the trainings of teachers in
order to make their teaching techniques improve,
efficient and effective for the well-being of the
students. For the teachers, they should also understand
and realize that the capacity of some of their students
are not inclined with their standards. For the students,
they should pursue college after graduating from Senior
high school for better and more job opportunities.
