Introduction
Indonesia is one of the most maritime countries in the world. Maritime
country is a country that has a larger water area than land area. And one example of
such water is a swamp. The island of Borneo especially South Kalimantan has
many swamps along the way. Unfortunately the swamps were larger neglected and
didn’t provide to the surrounding community. In general, the use of swamp is still
limited and is only sustain daily life. Lags behind other agroecosystems such as dry
land or irigated land.
The problem of poverty especially in rural area has not been resolved
properly. Poverty alleviation program tend to pay less attention to the developement
of sustainable livelihood that are based on local resources.
Proposed by Gatot Irianto (2006) that the potential of swamp land is very
broad can increase the intensity of planning to be doubled if managed properly. Thats
what lies behind the creation of an idea in the form of Integrated Agricultural Swamp
Tourism in a way utilizing the swamp, especially in South Kalimantan by developing
them into a tourist attraction that produces an advocates food production that will
improve the economy of the people around.

Conclusion
The extend of swamp land not being used optimally is a problem in
resource development and poverty alleviation in Indonesia. This is due to the low
education and knowledge of the community around swamp land, and the absence
of institutions that faster the utilizing of swamp land and human empowerment in
the area.

The solution to overcome these problems is an “Itegrated Agricultural

Swamp Tourism” that utilize unattended swamp lands as a center for economic
development and community welfare by applying a number of agricultural
activities such as gardening, breeding, and fish farming. This solution is expected
to increase the income of the community, increase the independence of villages,
learning places and as a source of sustainable livelihood while maintaining the
sustainability of natural resources.
