Kasus Polio di kabupaten jember pertama
kali Di temukan satu balita pada tahun 2005
tepatnya di desa tempurejo. Sejak saat itu
dinkes kab. Jember mulai mempertahankan
aman dan bebas dari polio. Dari tahun 2011
sampai 2015 polio mengalami sedikit
peningkatan dari tahun 2014. polio
tertinggi pada tahun 2011 yaitu sebesar
2,84 per 1000.000 usia < 15 tahun. Pada
tahun 2015 puskesmas terbesar
memnemukan kasus polio di puskesmas
mangli yaitu sebanyak 31,2 kasus, yang
kedua puskesmas curahnongko sebesar 14,7
kasus.
Berpotensi pada warga yang memiliki
balita dan belum mendapatkan vaksin polio.

Kabupaten jember memiliki sarana
pendidikan yang cukup lengkap baik yang
berstatus negeri maupun swasta ,
diantaranya terdapat 908 TK, 1.405 SD dan
MI, 505 SLTP dan MTS, 290 SMU atau
sejerat dan 11 Universitas atau akademik.
Berdasarkan SAKERNAS tahun 2014 ,
penduduk berusia 15 tahun keatas
ditamatkan di kabupaten jember yaitu
tidak atau belum pernah sekolah sebesar
138.335 jiwa, tidak tamat SD sebesar
273.166 jiwa, tamat SD atau sederajat
sebesar 395,556 jiwa, tamat SLTP sederajat
sebesar 140.231, tamat SLTA atau
sederajat sebesar 149. 697 jiwa, tamat
diploma sebesar 12. 681 jiwa dan tamat
universitas sebesar 17. 955 jiwa
