1- GLOBAL W A R M I NG

Over the past 50 years, the average global temperature has increased at the
fastest rate in recorded history. And experts see the trend is accelerating: All but
one of the 16 hottest years in NASA’s 134 -year record have occurred since 2000.

Global warming occurs when carbon dioxide (CO2) and other air pollutants and
greenhouse gases collect in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight and solar radiation
that have bounced off the earth’s surface.
SOLUTION TO G L O B A L W A R M I N G .

1- A shift to renewable sources of energy – such as wind, solar and hydropower

will help bring down demand for fossils fuels and eventually lower the level of
greenhouse gasses emitted into the atmosphere.

2 - Buy recycled products - Minimize cutting down of trees that help to balance
the amount of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere by buying recycled paper
products.
SOLUTION TO G L O B A L W A R M I N G .
2- Keep devices and appliances switched off- When not using devices and
appliances such as laptops, ovens, television and so on, make sure they are
switched off.

4- Drive a fuel-efficient vehicle. Minimal driving is tantamount to less emission.

Less driving also means less out-of-pocket costs. Choosing healthy activities
such as walking and riding a bicycle is a great way to cut back on atmospheric
emissions.
5- Stop deforestation- We can fight global warming by reducing
2 - D E F O R E S T A T I ON
Deforestation in simple term the felling and clearing of forest cover or tree
plantations in order to accommodate agricultural, industrial or urban use. It
involves permanent end of forest cover to make that land available for
residential, commercial or industrial purpose.
According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), an
estimated 18 million acres ( 7 . 3 million hectares) of forest are lost each year.

E F F E C T S OF DEF O RES TA TI ON
1 Increase in Global Warming: Trees play a major role in controlling global warming.
The trees utilize the green house gases, restoring the balance in the atmosphere.

2 Soil Erosion: Also due to the shade of trees the soil remains moist. With the
clearance of tree cover, the soil is directly exposed to the sun, making it dry

3 - E N V I R O N M E N T A L POLLUTION
Pollution is the contamination of the environment by introduction of
contaminants that can cause damage to environment and harm or discomfort to
humans or other living species.

CAUSES OFPOLLUTION
1- Pollution from cars, trucks, and other vehicles
2- Fossil fuel emissions from power plants
3- A continually growing population of humans and clear cutting of forests
4- Water pollution is a major issue.
SOLUTION TOTHEPOLLUTION
Electric and hybrid vehicles and public transportation systems.
Ecologically friendly power technologies being built every day.
Solar power is a fantastic solution.

BILLION TREEPROJECT
In June of 2015 the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
province (KPK), a province in northern Pakistan, announced
that a massive tree planting campaign would contribute to
the Bonn Challenge with a pledge of 348,400 hectares.
